Lush Bournemouth - A Festive Preview

I was so excited to be invited to the Bournemouth Bloggers event at Lush Bournemouth. We were full of festive cheer, and ready to review the new seasonal product range. Normally at these sorts of events, you smell delicious festive products and test some of the creams on your skin, but this event blew us away.

When we arrived, we were served prosecco in a Lush black pot (collect 5 and get a free face mask BTW) and given a name badge, so that networking was so much less stressful. We were then encouraged to pick a partner, who would be our practise participant when testing the new range of massage bars. We were taught massage techniques, so that our partners could experience the range of massage bars on offer. Some of the bars contain shimmer powders (hello Christmas party) and others are packed with essential oils for a relaxing and soothing application. We were left feeling calmer and bonded with our buddy for the night, many of whom we had never met before.

Next we were invited to make our own bath bombs and festive cleanser. We made the shooting star bath bomb, which was full of sparkle and gorgeous gold stars. Perfect for Christmas Eve! The Bûche de Noël cleanser was messy to make, but smelt like Christmas in a roll. Packed with festive ingredients like mandarin, cranberries and brandy, with a smattering of gold, this will surely get you in the mood for the holidays.

Finally we were invited to choose a gift for our buddy, which was so generous of Lush and the perfect way to cement our friendships. We flitted across the shop trying to find the perfect gift for our buddy, which inadvertently really got us in the mood for Christmas gifting. My buddy gifted me the Yog Nog Yule Log bubble bar; full of cinnamon, nutmeg and cocoa butter it made for a shimmering and indulgent bubble bath. Just what this new mum needed! I gifted her the French Kiss bubble bar, which is a revitalising blend of lavender, rosemary and coconut oil. Ideal for a bit of me time when her gorgeous family are settled in bed.

Having toured the store and sniffed, squished and tried just about everything, here are my top tips for festive gifting:

The mistletoe scarf - if you are a thing like me, you house is full of beautiful wrapping paper and gift bags (the latter of which we often reuse), but you feel guilty at Christmas for the amount of paper that is wasted, especially the kind that cannot be recycled. Lush have a stylish solution - the scarf bag/wrap. Not only is it a sumptuous way to wrap your gift, it in itself is a gift. I intend to use them as a dribble catcher, scarf, bag decoration and so much more besides.

Shoot for the stars bath bomb - my water was the most mesmerising cobalt blue starry night, filled with sparkle and gold star bath melts. My skin was left feeling soft with the coconut butter and almond oil, combined with the mood boosting scent of bergamot. I felt like I had been to a far away destination. I would recommend for Christmas Eve gifts or secret Santa brownie points.

Twilight spray - Mamas, let's get real! With a new baby (yes we check their chest is moving during the night) or a wriggly tot, sleep seems like a far away dream. I was recommended this soothing and 'sleep-encouraging' spray for use around the bedroom and any surfaces that is not in direct contact with baby. I have used it a few nights now and absolutely love the scent. I am pretty sure I am sleeping deeper too. We all know a hard working mama that needs this!

Thank you so much to Lush Bournemouth for being the most gracious and generous hosts! I had the best time and was so impressed with all of the activities you had organised. FYI they offer parties - go check them out! Thank you also to Bournemouth Bloggers for the invite, it was very much appreciated!
